In this video tutorial, viewers learn how to get a Windows 98 theme on Microsoft Windows 7. The Windows 98 themes need to be downloaded from the link in the video description. The Windows 98 themes are: Baseball, Jungle, Mystery and Travel. When opened, the background changes to the theme. The cursor and the icons on the desktop also changes to the theme. There are sound effects when the user maximizes and minimizes a window. This video will benefit those viewers who use a Windows 7 computer and would like to have the old Windows 98 themes on their desktop.
SkinPacks are user-created themes that can transform your Windows PC to everything from an Angry Birds-inspired operating system to something that looks like Mac OS X or Ubuntu. With these standalone apps, you can alter just about every aspect of your computer in just a few clicks.
If you are not up for using the SkinPack Creator and would rather use a premade theme, go to the download page (linked below) for your specific Windows version and find the SkinPack that is right for you.
Once you get to the installation options, make sure you check the box next to Restore Point just in case anything goes wrong with the installation. There will also be options to install add-ons like MetroSidebar and RocketDock, depending on the theme you downloaded.
If you find yourself getting tired of your theme and want to switch it up, you will first need to uninstall your previous SkinPack through the Programs list in Control Panel. However, if something went wrong with the install process and you are trying to get your PC back to normal, I'd recommend using the System Restore option.
Did you create your own theme, or download one of the featured SkinPack themes? Be sure to show off you screenshots in the comments section below, or share them with us over on Facebook, Google+, or Twitter.

The following themes are included in a Visual Studio Theme Pack, where we have converted the default Visual Studio Code themes to work in Visual Studio. Once you install the theme pack, you will see all of these themes!
This represents a just a small subset of the creativity theme authors have on display. You can find an ever-growing set of additional themes here. We are working on improving how authors can create Visual Studio themes. Stay tuned for updates!
The Theme Converter is still in an experimental stage and we are working closely with the community to refine the new themes. If you have any suggestions for changes or requests, please create an issue on the Theme Converter GitHub.
To view your theme after installation, you will need to restart your instance of Visual Studio. Then, navigate to the Tools -> Themes dropdown. This list of themes will include the name of your newly installed theme. Select that theme to apply it to Visual Studio.
For these dark themes, is there a way to set the color palette of the Visual Studio integrated terminal? It appears to use a color palette built for light themes, so the text is very hard to read on a dark background. In Windows Terminal or conhost, you can set the color palette.

Tk has basically two sets of widgets, the classic widgets and the themed widgets. The classic widgets are default because of the need to support old applications, but new code should use the themed widgets. (They can't be overloaded because they work in quite different ways, and there's a lot of code out there that depends on the old classic way. Alas.) With the right theme, the themed widgets (typically referred to as Ttk) look native and behave natively on Windows and OSX.
There are partial Ttk themes that delegate to Gtk and Qt available (this presentation from last year shows them in action) but they're partial, in large part because of the poor quality of the themes (Gtk/Qt themes, not Ttk themes; this is confusing!) in typical use with those toolkits. The major problem is apparently in the reporting of metrics, which often seems to be wrong (resulting in widgets getting the wrong size or visual elements being put in the wrong place); I understand from talking to the author of that paper that a significant fraction of themes only happen to work with Gtk/Qt, but cannot verify this from personal experience. (I'm on OSX so I use Ttk's direct native support.)
Copland was to be an entirely new operating system. Leveraging its experience with the GUI, Apple designed a brand new theme for the operating system, dubbed Platinum. All interface elements now had 3D shading and color, unlike the earlier versions of Mac OS, which were largely black and white.
Another big update to the Finder was the ability to drag windows to the bottom of the screen and turn them into tabs. You could pop them open or closed, and this an easy way to keep commonly used files handy without having them on a desktop or an always open window.
Copland was to be fully theme-able, and it was previewed with two themes in addition to Platinum: Z Theme (left) was designed for kids and P Theme (right) had a dark futuristic look. Software developers could create their own themes.
Perfect for homeworks, documentation or specs, Easy Code Formatter would provide you multiple coding themes, line rendering option and highlighting tools for formatting your text. Your selections will be persisted and you can just codify your text at the click of a button with your favourite options.
A lot of customers wanted the styles to be open sourced, so now you can contribute to Easy Code Formatter's styles on github. You'll get a few themes out of the box and more are in the works, you're more than welcome to contribute!
It is the first server build to introduce support for ISO mounting, USB 3.0/XHCI, fast startup (also known as hybrid boot) and the Aero Lite theme. As the build belongs to a branch intended specifically for virtualization, it includes improvements towards the Hyper-V hypervisor, such as extended PCI bus support and the ability to initialize Hyper-V services before loading into the operating system.
Help is at hand with a number of tools to let you use unsigned themes. Free and simple to use is UXTheme which modifies Windows itself to remove this restriction leaving you to just dump the various theme directories and their contents into C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes.
There are a number of sites providing Visual Styles but my favorites are ThemeXP.Org and Neowin.Net the latter hosting my favorite theme, Watercolor 4.3. The look is based on beta releases of Windows XP (code-named Whistler).
Changing the theme of a desktop environment is a common way to customize your daily experience with Fedora Workstation. This article discusses the 4 different types of visual themes you can change and how to change to a new theme. Additionally, this article will cover how to install new themes from both the Fedora repositories and 3rd party theme sources.
When changing the theme of Fedora Workstation, there are 4 different themes that can be changed independently of each other. This allows a user to mix and match the theme types to customize their desktop in a multitude of combinations. The 4 theme types are the Application (GTK) theme, the shell theme, the icon theme, and the cursor theme.
Application themes are also known as GTK themes, as GTK (GIMP Toolkit) is the underlying technology that is used to render the windows and user interface widgets in those windows on Fedora Workstation.
Shell themes change the appearance of the GNOME Shell. The GNOME Shell is the technology that displays the top bar (and the associated widgets like drop downs), as well as the overview screen and the applications list it contains.
One important item to note with icon themes is that all icon themes will not have customized icons for all application icons. Consequently, changing the icon theme will not change all the icons in the applications list in the overview.
Changing themes on Fedora Workstation is a simple process. To change all 4 types of themes, use the Tweaks application. Tweaks is a tool used to change a range of different options in Fedora Workstation. It is not installed by default, and is installed using the Software application: 2b1af7f3a8
