For those not familiar, True Philippine Ghost Stories is a compilation of ghost stories from all over the Philippines. It was first published in 2002 and contains horror stories from your typical white lady stories to scary paranormal activities. Some stories have an illustration or two. I remember that when a well-off classmate bought a new copy (it costs PhP 100.00 back then. Nobody had that kind of money in a public school unless you are burgis. Imagine that?!?), it got passed around. It was like Magandang Gabi Bayan Halloween Special on a normal day.
You are a life saver. I still have poorly maintained copies of some of the books and the only one accessible to me is the first collection book. This information is great. Downloading now. These stories helped build the best of my childhood too!!! And my influences as an artist.
I'm an avid reader of this page almost everyday visiting here for some new ghost stories to read.Way back 2019 I was employed in a manufacturing company in F. Manalo Street, San Juan. I was new there, and everything I saw was new. All I thought was it is just a new starting company to work for....
This happened when I was in college. We have a classmate who claims that he has third eye, he keeps on telling stories of ghost in the campus and bugged everyone claiming that there's someone behind them or watching them from afar. My classmates got tired of his antiques and called him the crazy gay...

The True Philippine Ghost Stories Book 1 was first published in 2002, and the series has continued to spread ghost stories from around the Philippines, with the latest installment to the series published in 2019.
Before Netflix, Filipinos lined up at cinemas and kept vigil on TV channels to catch scarring horror movies. Those who preferred to read their scary stories, though, ran to bookstores to grab the latest book in the True Philippine Ghost Stories series, which was first released by PSICOM Publishing Inc. in 2002.
Mendoza bought her first copy in 2003. Like many other Filipinos, she went to a Catholic school, where she said she heard plenty of paranormal stories that took place around the campus and neighborhood. Those gave her the creeps, she said, but also made her yearn for more. She found herself frequently visiting her local bookstore to see if the newest book in the series was available.
The show is divided into two parts, each containing a true paranormal story from True Philippine Ghost Stories and Haunted Philippines. During the intermission, a photograph of ghostly figures is shown and later on the background revealed. Contests are sometimes held where participants must decide which of two pictures is real. At the end, footage of "real life ghosts" encountered by people is shown.
Lots of universities in the world are believed to have secret tunnels below their campuses. Through the years, students have made up various stories concerning hidden pathways leading to dungeons, ritual rooms and so on. This legend is again particularly popular in the US. Students from Michigan State University believe that there are creepy dungeons below the university. That is partially true, because there ARE tunnels running under the campus, but they are actually steam tunnels that were built to house campus utilities. No dungeons whatsoever have been found. Another version of the same belief exists at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where some students there believe there is a secret room below the Foreign Language Building and that it holds a supercomputer, which is owned by the government. They also claim that there are secret tunnels below the buildings on the Quad, whose origin and purpose is unknown.
Arguably the most popular college urban legends are about haunted universities. Almost every university in the world which is more than 100 years old has its own ghost. While some students proudly brag about that and make up all kinds of scary stories of ghostly encounters, there are some who are genuinely afraid. Even though different colleges have different legends concerning ghosts, the main patterns are very similar. There can only be so many types of ghosts, right?! Ones to watch out for include:
A similar urban legend exists in the American University of Cincinnati. According to students and staff there, the ghost of a former classics professor who died in the 1960s haunts the Blegen rare book room. Students claim that they constantly feel like someone is watching them and keep hearing strange noises at night.
Room for One More is a scary story from the book Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. It is based on a supposedly true ghost story from Ireland called "Lord Dufferin's Ghost Story" or "A Ghostly Warning" 2b1af7f3a8
