In the script to be called as part of the recovery process, get_standby_streaming_lists() function takes care of all the work. This function will call the procedure pg_archivecleanup() and check if the procedure reports success or not. If it calls success it means the WAL files are no longer needed. So it removes the files and restarts the server to get back to the current point.
One of the parameters is the WAL file name to be removed, if it is not empty, and the parameter is required for removing WAL files. If this parameter is not provided, the cleanup won't work. The OID is also needed to be provided if it is present in pg_wal.
This function deletes all the WAL files in a given directory and the files will be removed even if the last_xlog_replay_location is not the same as current server OID. This can be useful in case of direct pg_xlog files and archive_cleanup_command is not set. It will however fail in case of symbolic links to WAL files.
The next step involves restarting the server to get back to the current server restart point. The server restart points are available from pg_controldata. If no savepoints are set, it will make a full restart of the server.
The function first checks if the WAL files are currently archived. If so, it doesn't do anything. So it will skip the WAL files and move to the next step. If WAL files are archived, they are removed in the given directory.
The restore_command will reset the archive_cleanup_command to null, the archive_cleanup_command will be removed from recovery.conf. As a result of this, the old WAL files are removed and the server restarts itself.
This command by default prints the SHA1 fingerprint of a privatekey. If the -v option is specified, the key is printed inhuman-readable format, with additional information such as theowner, issuer, serial number, and any extensions.
Some applications, such as Java, require that the application directories and libraries are updated to a newer version before the user can update. However, there are some applications that are not explicitly API-specific, such as the X Window System, the X server source code, are automatically updated as required.
