Phantogram Nightlife EP 2011 [EXCLUSIVE]

Nightlife is the third EP by American electronic rock band Phantogram, released November 1, 2011 by Barsuk Records. It was also sold at their shows before the official release date.[6] The first single from the album, "Don't Move", was debuted October 5, 2011 by Pitchfork.[6] They released the album for full streaming on their Facebook page on October 18.[7]

The band subsequently released the Running from the Cops EP in May 2009 on BBE Records. Phantogram finally made their full-length album debut with Eyelid Movies (2010), an 11-track LP featuring the four previously released EP songs "Mouthful of Diamonds," "When I'm Small," "Running from the Cops," and "Bloody Palms." The album was released internationally by BBE Records, domestically by Barsuk Records, and on vinyl by Ghostly International. The duo returned in late 2011 with the Nightlife EP, which sold enough to hit the lower reaches of the U.S. charts. They continued to tour heavily but found the time to collaborate with OutKast's Big Boi on his second album, Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumours (2012), and also featured on the Flaming Lips track "Young Lust" in 2013.

Phantogram's debut self-titled EP was released soon after, in 2009 on the CE Records label and was shortly followed by another EP, released in 2009, called Running From the Cops. In October 2009, they signed a deal with Barsuk Records. Their debut album, Eyelid Movies, was released in September 2009 in Europe and Canada and in February 2010 in the US. In 2011, they released another EP, called Nightlife.

Phantogram (formerly Charlie Everywhere) is an American electronic rock duo from Greenwich,New York, formed in 2007 and consisting of Josh Carter (vocals, guitars) and Sarah Barthel(vocals, keyboards). The band name was inspired by an optical illusion called a phantogram,in which two-dimensional images appear to be three-dimensional.They described their soundas "street beat, psych pop". According to Josh Carter, their music has "lots of rhythms, swirling guitars, spacey keyboards, echoes, airy vocals".

They write and record in a remote barn in upstate New York called Harmony Lodge.The band has released two studio albums (Eyelid Movies in 2009, Voices in 2014), four EPs (Phantogram and Running From the Cops in 2009, Nightlife in 2011, Phantogram in 2013) and eight singles.

From this album, they issued the singles "Mouthful of Diamonds", "When I'm Small" and "As Far As I Can See". "When I'm Small" was featured in the opening episode of MTV's adaption of Skins. It was also used in the trailer of the 2013 film Syrup, Canon's advertisement for the 650D camera, and a Gillette commercial for the Fusion ProGlide razor featuring Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews. "Mouthful of Diamonds" also appeared in the same American adaptation of Skins in the episode "Stanley". "Mouthful of Diamonds" was also featured in the films Attack of La Nina, a 2011 ski film by Matchstick Productions, and Breaking the Girls which was released in 2013.The EP Nightlife, was released on 1 November 2011 and included the single "Don't Move". "Don't Move" was featured in the 2012 film Pitch Perfect, and the CW's adaptation of The Secret Circle.

In 2010, they enlisted drummer Tim Oakley, formerly of The Mathematicians, for their tour.In 2013, the band added guitarist/synth Nicholas Shelestak to the touring crew, while Chris Carhart took over on drums. They appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon in 2011 and 2013, and in February 2014, they performed a song on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
