I've been playing all the games in the Max Payne franchise, and have now settled on Max Payne 2. It is packed with innovative touches, and simply puts everything you love about Max Payne into your hands. I would like to see a Max Payne 3, but especially a Max Payne 4. There should be no doubt as to who is the star of the Max Payne franchise, and this (along with other games of this type) make Max Payne a must own for every PS2 owner. Buy it with the Ultimate Mod Pack, play it, and imagine playing more.
Max Payne 1 is about a cop who is retiring from his job. He is compelled to return to the force when his partner, who is a complete sweetheart, is murdered. Max is charged with one of the most infamous crimes from his past on a train filled with corrupt politicians. It looks like he will pay for his past petulance with his life. The game is presented in a fantastic 2D graphic that takes advantage of your play style as well: Max shines with a western inspired gunplay while the game takes advantage of the PS2 CD-ROM. The story doesn't really get off the ground, but the game is told in a cinematic type narrative that simulates a thriller where the suspense and games play is awesome. It is very much Max Payne, and even though it is a very linear and linear game it is kind of fun. It is a great game, and there should be mod after mod for this mod.
