This is the smallest thing and is probably the most insignificant. If you think about it, Takao Sano's hair is the only difference between the anime and the live-action. But it's the difference between watching the anime and watching the live-action film. It's one of the first things I noticed and it made me realise that while the film is good, it's not the same.
But as much as I love this character, there are a few things about the live-action that really bother me. I've tried to come up with a fair and balanced list of these things. Keep in mind, these are not criticisms of the film itself, simply of the live-action. I'm looking forward to seeing this and hope those changes work out for the better.
The live-action is the first time I've seen hair on a character matter as much as it does in this film. This is even more noticeable with his wife, who you don't even question for a second about her hair. The live-action did a good job at making their character a new one, but there is a sense of disappointment because it's not the same. As a result, it doesn't work as well as the original.
In the live-action, hair is a big part of the plot. There's plenty of manga and anime where people look like they're bald - even people who aren't bald. We (the audience) know that this character is bald. He knows that this character isn't. It's a part of the character's identity, which is why it's so important to us.
Have you ever wondered what it would be like if the anime had an actual live-action version? Well, it's not as if it hasn't been done before. The anime series has been adapted into a manga and a video game called 827ec27edc
